The Artist
宁保成
Ning Baocheng, known by his studio name Ruimo Studio (瑞墨斋), is a calligrapher based in Jiexiu, Shanxi Province. A Senior Registered Teacher of the Chinese Calligraphers Association, he trained at the Peking University Chinese Culture Academy and under masters Wang Xueling and Cui Shenghui at the Association's Training Center in Beijing.
His calligraphy has reached some of China's most prominent cultural stages — he inscribed the title for director Feng Xiaogang's celebrated film Youth (芳华, 2017), the title for Ding Sheng's A Better Tomorrow (英雄本色, 2016), and the promotional script for Jackie Chan's Railroad Tigers (铁道飞虎, 2016).
In 2019, China Science and Culture Press published his calligraphy and painting collection. He is a member of the Shanxi Province Calligraphers Association, Director of the Jiexiu City Calligraphers Association, and Art Advisor to the Fenxi Mining Youth Photography Association.
